I write about cryptocurrency, with a special interest in NFT and metaverse in particular.

According to reports,Lazio, a Serie A football club, has partnered with Binance to sell NFT tickets for its fans in the forthcoming 2022/2023 football session.

Binance, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has partnered with the Italian football giant, Lazio, to help solve the ticketing issue ravaging the football industry by selling blockchain-based tickets to the club’s fans.

The new ticketing development allows Lazio supporters to attend the club’s home games at Stadio Olimpico, their legendary stadium and largest sports facility in Rome with NFT tickets.

NFT tickets don’t offer access to the stadium only. Their holders can also take advantage of the available discounts on offer such as a 10% discount on products sold in the club’s store. They can also enjoy and a 20% discount on the club’s ticket for Europa League matches, in one of the several annual UEFA-organized competitions.

Other incentives for the digital ticket holders include a chance to win fan tokens that offer them access to some exclusive events to further cement their healthy relationship with the top Italian football club.

Interested Lazio fans can purchase these digital assets from the Binance store by opening an account with the cryptocurrency exchange. Only registered members of the crypto exchange can access the Binance Fan Token Platform. Visit the Binance official website and sign up to have access to these offers.

Binance believes that the new ticketing method will proffer a solution to some of the challenges of the traditional ticketing system such as double ticketing. The non-fungible tokens will prevent ticket forgery and other related problems that may cost the club a loss of revenue.

Besides their ticketing partnership, the exchange also sponsors the club’s shirt. They announced their $30.5 million shirt sponsorship deal last fall for a two-year agreement with a year extension option.

The NFT ticketing initiative is another score by the legendary cryptocurrency exchange after it entered a partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo. The famous Portuguese soccer superstar intends to create and release NFT collections of iconic moments in its successful football career.

According to the multi-award-winning soccer superstar, it’s a way of providing his followers with a unique opportunity to “own an iconic piece of sports history.”

We have recently reported that Binance Now Sells NFT Tickets, after the EUFA League Fallout.
