I write about cryptocurrency, with a special interest in NFT and metaverse in particular.

The renowned American clothing company, Tommy Hilfiger, will attend this year’s New York Fashion Week with a bang. The company has completed plans to combine metaverse with a real catwalk at the annual fashion show.

The fashion show has been scheduled for the Skyline Drive-In, Brooklyn, on September 11. The Roblox community of over 50 million users can live stream the event where Hilfiger’s Fall 2022 clothes will be displayed by metaverse avatars in a takeover of New York’s virtual metropolis.

The show is an avenue for Hilfiger to show fashion lovers across the globe its “See Now, Buy Now” latest collection.

The highly revered clothing company will work hand-in-hand with eight Roblox users who specialize in making 2D and 3D versions of virtual fashion items. The company focuses on making digital items that are exclusively available for sale on Roblox for its global customer base.

Besides New York, the Fashion Week will spread over other cities in the world, courtesy of Tommy Hilfiger’s multi-media brand activations at his numerous stores. New York’s creative spirit inspired the collection on display at this year’s fashion show.

This isn’t Tommy Hilfiger’s maiden metaverse-based fashion show appearance. Earlier in March, the company participated in a similar event in Decentraland, tagged Metaverse Fashion Week.

Tommy Hilfiger isn’t a lone ranger in this game. However, the company’s positivity about the latest technologies such as NTs, Web3, and the metaverse makes it stand out among its peer.

According to Rarity Sniper, several fashion companies have invested heavily in Web3 products and services as proof of their interest in this technology. The company shared some interesting facts about fashion and Web3 in some of its posts:

  • For the NFT Art Gallery, SuperRare, and Gucci Work Together.
  • Prada will no Longer use NFTs that have to do with Clothes.
  • The First Dior Clothes for Men to be sold on Baidu Metaverse.
  • The Metaverse Experience is a Joint Project between Gap and Roblox.
  • Lacoste is Launching the “UNDW3” NFT Community.
  • Louis Vuitton Will Come out with a new NFT Collection

Thanks to the Metaverse, fashion brands can experiment with new items. Metaverse gives them a platform to showcase new trends to the global community and cell virtual accessories and clothes as NFTs.

The fashion world is eager to see the originality of Tommy Hilfiger’s collection as claimed by the company, although its operations align with the Web3 style that is currently ruling the fashion world.
